Default Settings Applied When Creating a Team in Opsgenie (Operational Policy)

The following default settings are applied when a team is created in Opsgenie. These settings are managed by the Hybrid Cloud2 Group.

If changes are needed later, the Admin of the team can directly edit them.

Two Escalations are applied by default for each team. 

  • An Escalation that immediately notifies all members and leaders when a Manual Alert is created 
  • The following Escalation is applied by default

These are basic rules used for alert notifications. Notifications are repeated at 2-minute intervals until at least one recipient acknowledges the Alert. 

  1. As soon as the Alert occurs, it is delivered to a Random member of the Team. 
  2. If the Alert is not acknowledged, it is delivered to a Random member of the Team 2 minutes after the issue occurs. 
  3. If the Alert is still not acknowledged, it is delivered to All members of the Team 4 minutes after the issue occurs. 
  4. If the Alert is still not acknowledged, it is delivered to All members of the Team and the leaders 6 minutes after the issue occurs. 

Member

The individuals requested at the time of the team creation request will be added to the newly created Team. 

Slack integration

Alerts will be sent to the requested Slack channel, or configured to be sent to a relevant Slack channel. 

The following options are applied by default: 

  • Displayed message
    • Alert content, Tag, and the Team receiving the Alert 
  • Use of Slack buttons to perform actions 
    • Acknowledge : Acknowledge the Alert 
    • Close : Close the Alert 
    • Assign : Assign ownership of the Alert to another recipient 
    • Take Ownership : Take ownership of the Alert 
    • Snooze : Pause the Alert until a specific time 
    • Add note : Add a Note to the Alert 
    • Update Priority : Change the Priority of the Alert
