/genie connect

Frequently Used Opsgenie Commands

You must use the exact team name and alert number as registered in Opsgenie.

Action
Command Format Example
Create Alert/genie alert [alert message] for [team1, team2, user1..]
/genie alert Threshold exceeded for ZCP Public
Acknowledge Alert /genie ack [tinyID1, tinyID2..]/genie ack 3127
Close Alert /genie close [tinyID1, tinyID2..]/genie close 3127, 3389

Manually Creating an Alert

Manual alerts can be useful in the following scenarios:

  • You've acknowledged an alert but cannot resolve it yourself, and need to escalate via phone call.

  • A system alert requires immediate phone notification to the corresponding DT Platform team.

Include Manual Alert in the alert message to indicate manual escalation.

  • Example: /genie alert Manual Alert - Please check node failure. for ZCP Public
