Members

When a member is added to a team, they become a recipient of alerts via the default escalation rule.

To ensure effective incident awareness, each team must invite at least two members.

On-call

Setting Routing Rules

Filter the created alerts based on content, tags, etc., and configure which alerting mechanism to use under certain conditions.

For example, you can configure alerts containing the tag Manual Alert to be immediately broadcasted to all team members. If no special filtering is needed, you can skip this configuration.

  1. From the menu on the left, go to Teams and select your team (only the teams you belong to are shown).
  2. Click Add routing rule, configure the rule, and click Add.
    1. If there are no special conditions, each team will typically have one On-call schedule and one Escalation Policy.

Setting Escalation Policies

Set propagation rules that can be selected from the Routing Rules above. You can define who receives the alert and in what order based on time.

Multiple Escalation Policies can be created, allowing for flexible handling of various cases.

  1. From the menu on the left, go to Teams and select your team (only the teams you belong to are shown).
  2. Click Add escalation, configure the rule, and click Add.
    1. Example
      1. Immediately contact a random member of the team upon alert creation.
      2. If not acknowledged, contact a random member again 2 minutes after the incident.
      3. If still not acknowledged, contact all team members 4 minutes after the incident.
      4. If still not acknowledged, contact all team members and leaders 6 minutes after the incident.
    2. You can click Edit on existing escalations to modify them.

Setting On-call Schedules

Define specific time slots or days when each member is responsible for receiving alerts. Use the On-call setting when there is a designated person for specific times or dates.

The configured On-call schedule must be referenced in Routing Rules to be effective.

  1. From the menu on the left, go to Teams and select your team (only the teams you belong to are shown).
  2. Click Add schedule, set the Name and Description, then click Add.
  3. Configure the created On-call schedule.
    1. The Overrides section takes priority over the regular schedule.

Set up integrations between Opsgenie and other tools through the Integrations menu.

Integrations can be In or Out directional, and some services support both.

  • In : Used for creating alerts
  • Out : Used for forwarding alerts after creation
  1. From the Teams screen, go to Integrations in the left menu.
