Slack

Overview 

  • Introduction
    Slack is a real-time communication tool accessible via mobile and web environments. It enables efficient work by integrating with various IT development, operations, and team-building services.
    For AGS collaboration channels, a real-time translation tool called Untangle is configured, allowing multilingual translation. Among available tools in the market, Untangle is relatively accurate in terms of translation quality.

    Only emails under the domain skcc.com are used.

Usage Process 

  • Request > Join Channel > Use > Terminate

Request 

Submit a technical support ticket for Slack and the translation tool via our Support Portal.

  • Channel Creation & AGS Personnel Registration

    Create a new ticket 
    Fill in all required fields 
    • Ticket Type: Technical Inquiry

    • Service Level 1: Ops Modernization

    • Service Level 2: Cowork & Notification

    • Service Level 3: AGS Channel

    Request Details 
    • Channel: Name of the new channel or existing channel to invite AGS personnel

    • You may request multiple channels

    • User Invitation: Email addresses of AGS members (e.g., @fpt.com)

      • Separate users per channel if requesting multiple channels

      • You may also include internal staff or external partners

    • Include translation tool setup

    ※ AGS personnel are not added directly to the main SK Digital Workspace but join a dedicated AGS workspace (SK_FPT_Digital_Service) first, and are then connected to individual channels. This typically takes longer than inviting full-time employees. 


Usage 

  • Accessing Slack
    Available via Web, Desktop App, and Mobile App

  • Configuration Policy 
    • Untangle is installed and configured by default by admins for AGS channels only 
    • For individual configuration requests, submit a ticket via the Support Portal
      -> Not recommended unless required for issue resolution

  • Translation Settings
    Default Language Support: Korean, Vietnamese (up to 2 languages allowed) 
    • Case 1: Korean → Vietnamese

    • Case 2: Vietnamese → Korean

    • Case 3: English → Korean, Vietnamese

      Korean → Vietnamese 
      Vietnamese → Korean
      English → Korean, Vietnamese


  • You may adjust these settings according to the project's collaboration environment. 
    • Default when AGS channel is created: All 3 cases enabled (by Admin) 
    • Can be modified per channel during usage 
  1.  Language Setting Request

    Permission Admin
    Procedure 1. Create a new ticket on the Support Portal
    2. Enter required fields: 
    • Ticket Type: Technical Inquiry

    • Service Level 1: Ops Modernization

    • Service Level 2: Cowork & Notification

    • Service Level 3: AGS Channel

    3. Fill in the request: 

    • Subject: Change Untangle Language Settings

    • Channel Name

    • Languages to Translate: e.g., Korean, Vietnamese

    Settings Channel Language: Korean
    Channel Language 2: Vietnamese

  2. Turn Off Untangle Translation :
    For projects that communicate in English only, or when English is preferred for issue resolution:

    Permissions Admin / Channel Members (with prior approval)
    Procedure 1. Type /untangle settingsin the channel message window

    2. Set the following:

    • Channel Language: Don’t translate

    • Channel Language 2: Don’t translate

    3. Click Save

  3. Change or Customize Translation Language (Not Recommended Unless Necessary)

    Permission Admin
    Procedure 1. Create a new ticket on the Support Portal
    2. Enter required fields: 
    • Ticket Type: Technical Inquiry

    • Service Level 1: Ops Modernization

    • Service Level 2: Cowork & Notification

    • Service Level 3: AGS Channel

    3. Fill in the request: 

    • Subject: Change Untangle Language Settings

    • Channel Name

    • Languages to Translate:

  • Untangle App Authorization
    To use Untangle in Slack, the translation app must be authorized to access Slack data.

    Process:
    Go to Slack > Apps > type /untangle auth → click Authorized button

    This authorization confirms the user trusts the app and grants access, which is required for translation functionality.

    Slack > 앱 > '/untangle auth' > Authorized 버튼


  • Termination
    When AGS collaboration ends: 
    • Remove AGS personnel from a specific channel: Select the user → "Remove from channel"

    • Remove AGS personnel from the entire workspace (if they joined multiple channels): Submit a ticket on the Support Portal 
    • Close the collaboration channel: Request channel archiving via the Support Portal
