Based on the features confirmed in [ Datadog ] Using Datadog for AIOps #1 – Key Features of Watchdog, this guide explains how to configure alarms.

Watchdog Monitor Configuration 


1. Creating a Watchdog Monitor 

You can add a Watchdog Monitor from the following paths: 


  • Click the New Monitor button at the top of the Watchdog alert list on the Watchdog page.


  • You can also add one by navigating to Monitors > New Monitor and selecting Watchdog


2. Setting a Watchdog Monitor 

  • Alert Conditions
    If you want to monitor all anomalies supported by Watchdog across collected data, leave the selection fields empty and everything will be recognized as All.
    If you wish to monitor by specific product category, specific items, or specific tags, refer to the image below and select the desired options.


  • Configure Notifications & automations
    - Configure the message that will be sent when a monitor alert occurs.
    - Sample message title and body
    [ Warning ] A Watchdog Alert has occurred. – {{event.title}}

  • Define permissions and audit notifications
    Set the permissions for the configured monitor and whether to notify when monitor settings are changed.
