Adding Slack Apps
Slack allows you to connect various apps to enhance productivity and collaboration.
Examples include:
Receiving incident alerts registered in Opsgenie via Slack
Receiving ticket notifications from the Support Portal
Receiving alerts from monitoring tools directly into Slack
Gathering team opinions using tools like Polly (e.g., for scheduling meetings or voting on lunch options)
App Installation Permissions
All members except Guest users can request app installation.
However, approval from a Workspace Owner is required before the app can be used.
If you're using a Guest account, an SK AX member you're collaborating with must make the request on your behalf.
How to Request an App
- Visit https://skcc1.slack.com/apps
- Search for and open the page of the app you want to use. Click Request to Install below the app icon.
- After approval by the Workspace Owner, click Submit request to complete the app integration.
Managing Apps & Integrations of Deactivated Members
If a member leaves the organization or is deactivated from the Slack workspace, any apps or integrations they set up will also be deactivated.
Before Deactivation:
Make sure to transfer ownership or update app settings accordingly.
Whenever possible, the departing member or their team should reconfigure and hand over app responsibilities.
